Uniden R7/R8 Quick-Release Powered Mount

Everyone needs this mount if they have a radar! I’ve had mine stolen in the past, due to being lazy not unplugging the radar and taking it with me. Now with this mount it’s too easy to take the radar out the car… it will never be stolen again.

Also have the added bonus of the radar looking clean as on the window, with no more dangling cables. Looks slick and very convenient.

Suuuppper easy install too, took me under 30mins to install the mount into both cars. I would 100% recommend this product to any one else I know with these compatible mounts. One critique would be the price, your paying for the design, the mount it self I believe would not cost $150 to make, I do like that your running sales all the time though.

Okay it’s been about 3 months since I’ve purchased and installed it in my car, so I’m here to write a follow-up review.

I am going to say that I am seriously so damn impressed with this product. I live in the U.S. so I had to get it shipped via Jetkrate NZ, and ever since it arrived in FL (where I live), I installed it, and 3 months leading up to today, I have yet to come across an issue with it.

I live in a south FL which can get extremely hot and sometimes a little cold for a few days in the winter, and this product is still in perfect condition from weather/temperature factors, even when sitting in direct sunlight on my windshield. Also with everyday use, the product is still exactly how it was the day I bought it and works perfectly.

I love how convenient it is to just quickly attach/unattach from it with my Uniden R8 so that I can store it or get it ready for a drive. I never want to leave my R8 visible in my car for thieves while it’s parked, so this is exactly why I bought this product. I also bought it because it looks extremely clean when installed in my vehicle. No big suction cup to block your view.

I installed this behind and a little bit below my rear view mirror, where I’ve wire tapped into the mirror power source. I had to cut a little slit to reveal the copper wire on the red wire (since the solder was a little too thick for my install) so that it could fit into the mirror tap. If you know what a mirror tap is, you’d know exactly what I’m talking about.

But yeah, just overall this product is probably one of the best purchases I’ve made in a while. I never write reviews for companies because it’s a waste of time but this small company definitely deserves some credibility. If you were worried this product was gonna be lousy and cheap, you are wrong. It’s great dude.

Really impressed with this mount. It’s solid as — no wobble, no rattles, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere, even on rough roads.

What I like most is how easy it is to pull the radar off and tuck it away. Once it’s removed, there’s just a small square left on the windscreen, so it doesn’t scream “radar detector here,” which is a big plus. Thieves know exactly what they’re looking at when they see the typical Uniden/Escort-style factory mount and suction cup setup, and that whole arrangement is a pain to pack away anyway — especially with the cord.

It also makes swapping the radar between my two cars dead easy. Simple, secure, and does exactly what I wanted it to do.
Wiring is good quality, glue lined heat shrink ect plenty of length to get it to your power source
