Installation Instructions
Pre-Installation Notes
First, check that you have received all parts from your order before proceeding. If anything is missing or damaged, please contact us at info@readysetradars.com.
Whichever wiring method you choose (e.g. fuse tap or Scotch lock), test the powered mount before full installation to ensure it is working correctly and the power supply is functioning properly.
Installation Instructions
-
Mock up the windscreen receiver on the windscreen with the radar detector hooked in. Ensure there is at least 25mm of clearance above the radar detector to allow removal.
- Clean the windscreen with isopropyl alcohol or acetone (use acetone with care) and allow it to dry fully.
-
Peel the backing off the 3M VHB on the powered windscreen receiver.
-
Gently warm both the windscreen and the adhesive of the mount with a heat
-
Mount the receiver with the wire exiting upward toward the roof.

-
Stick one side first and slowly roll it across to avoid air pockets. Apply firm pressure for 30-60 seconds once positioned.
-
Route the cable along the windscreen, tuck it into the headliner, and run it down the A-Pillar, securing with zip ties. Coil and secure any excess wire

-
Crimp the red wire to the fuse tap.
-
Insert a 2A fuse into the slot furthest from the fuse tap blade and place the original fuse in the other slot.

-
Insert the fuse tap into the chosen fuse slot in the fuse box

-
Bolt the black wire with the eyelet to the bare metal

-
WAIT 24 hours before attaching the radar detector to allow the VHB tape to cure - 72 hours for full strength.
-
Attach the adaptor hook to the mount and plug the RJ11 cable into the radar detector.
-
Attach the radar detector to the powered windscreen receiver and confirm it is secure.
WARNING: If you are not confident working with 12V electrical systems, we recommend having our installers complete the installation for you.
